Spawned from development with the Meridian 808.3 Anniversary CD player, the 818 represents the pinnacle of stereo pre-amplifier performance.
To be precise the ‘818 Reference Audio Core’ combines pre-amplifier and a Meridian Sooloos player into a single unit.
The 818 offers a diverse range of audio inputs, both analogue or digital.
It also has a USB input, so it can act as the ‘sound card’ for a computer.
Lastly the ID41 card makes it an integral Sooloos playback zone, simply connect it to a Sooloos system with a network connection to get amazing playback from your stored CDs.
The 818 offers a range of outputs, again both analogue and digital, so it can slide smoothly into any existing system you may wish to improve.
Both types of analogue output are provided; balanced on XLR and unbalanced on Phono RCA so it can connect to any conventional power amplifier and speakers, or even active analogue loudspeakers.
However it also has digital outputs, both on RCA phono and Meridian’s Speakerlink connection, for the full range of current and legacy Meridian DSP loudspeakers.
