Audio Images started in Sheffield in 1996 with familiar faces from Sound With Style who had been trading from the same site in Sheffield since 1991. In fact some of the faces will be recognised from the late 70's when the Sheffield shop used to be called The Audio Centre, owned by the infamous John Hargreaves.

In 2006 Barnsley Hi-Fi was brought under the Audio Images banner when John Brookes retired having owned the business for more than 40 years.

Audio Images has recently undertaken a full refit of the Barnsley shop and we would recommend you pay a visit to experience the transformation for yourselves.

The companies roots are based in offering the best in Hi-Fi systems from manufactureres such as Linn, Naim Audio, Arcam, Meridian and Rega.

In 1991 we started to embrace the advent of Home Cinema systems which brought a new dimension to watching home movies.

We were quickly aware that the new range of source components such as VCR's and satellite systems, coupled with surround-sound amplification and TV's or video projectors made systems more complex than ever before. We were asked by several of our Home Cinema customers to investigate the possibilites of consolidting their array of remote controls into a single easy to use system.

This was our introduction to Crestron, and then AMX control systems, the pinnacle of comple home control.
